Spicy Hot Noods: Maitre Khan Spicy Hot Pork Rib
I have reviewed these guys before, they make the second best Tom Yum noodles around, second only to Mama.
The package itself serves as a spicy warning to all those who dare enter here, fiery hot reds, oranges and yellows everywhere. Inside is a typical raman-brick, with 3 packages, soup-base powder, dried vegetables (hot peppers, onions and cabbage) and an oil package. You know what this means kids, according to Jonnays Law of Hot Noods, the more flavour packages, the better the soup, and this soup is no exception to the rule.
The noodles themselves are alright. Nothing in particular to write home about. They don't get too soggy too quickly, but they lack a distinct flavour.
The broth is where this meal really shines. It actually tastes like pork ribs, unlike the mystery chicken flavour of Mr. Noodle. While it is spicy, it is not so spicy that you are sweating. It hits you mostly in the back of the throat and the lips, leaving your tongue blissfully unaware (just how I like it). The volume of oil might be a little much for some, but I found it satisfying, but not too oily, except at the very bitter end.
The veggies were good, if a tad sparse. The hot petter rings were a nice touch however, as well as what appeared to be cabbage.
All in all, I wouldn't buy a case of this as my stable-lunch-noodle, but I certainly would buy a case to augment my staple-lunch-noodle, and give me some variety.

Mama Tom Yum Creamy Shrimp Noods
Awesome. Buy them.
They are very Tom-Yummy. There is another noodle manufacturer that does tom-yum in a purple noodle bowl package, but... pah-tooay! they got nothing on Mama. Nothin. The noodles themselves are good. Not quite NongShim Kimchi bowl good, but definitely better then Noodle-Time. The broth however, is like sex in sealed packets. Only 2 packets, not three like the clear noodle soup. Still, the broth is absolutely amazing. It is a creamy sauce reminiscent of a Thai curry. The shrimp flavour is understated, but present. And it has oh so spicy goodness.
My only problem is that it is basically noodles and broth. No dried mushrooms, no dried anything really, except the obligatory onion.
Either way: A+++++++++ GOOD NOODZ. WILL EATZ0rZ AGAIN.

Mama Oriental Style Instant Rice Vermicelli Clear Soup

Mama, you are hot!
Hot Noods.
MaMa noodles (link might be broken) which may be a subsidiary, or is some how related to President Rice Products Public Company Limited. Make some freaking awesome Rice Vermicelli clear soup.
"Clear soup?" you say? It isn't as boring as it sounds. The noodles (and flavour) are similar to Thai Kitchen noodles, but taste better (and hotter!).
It comes with not one...
not two...
but three... count em, three flavour packets! You know what that means kids.
That's right, GOOD noodle soup.
Stave it off! 1 2 3, and now you can count to three!
These noodles, and the broth they are swimming in just get better and better after each bite. By the end of it, I am craving more of these wonders.
Some noodles (like the Mr. Noodle, or Noodle Time variety) you can judge by the first taste just how horrible they are.
These are completely complementary. Only when the last drop of broth has been slurped up do you understand how truly wonderful these are.
MMmmmmm.

Six Fortune Instant Broad Noodles
Edible. Good. But that is about it.
Nothing major. I wasn't going "oh my god..." and the Broad noodles are basically flattened ichiban style noodles. They also broke apart super easy when dry, and got soggy right away. The broth was good if a little bland, (at least, bland for the Six Fortune brand.)
Give them a shot, its good for variety, but not outstanding.

Nissin Tonkotsu Flavour instant Ramin
MMMMmmmm Goodness.
Tonkotsu apparently is Porkbone soup. With Nissin, you get 2 flavour packets of goodness. (As a general rule, the more packets of flavouring, the better. Stay away from most one packet soups). The noodles themselves aren't bad. They aren't as good as NongShim noodles, but they are lighter then SixFortune noodles.
The thing that I like most about these noodles is the sesame seeds. definitely a good buy, and cheep too!

Nong Shim Bowl Noodle Kimchi Flavour Soup
MMMMMmmm Good.
On eof my favorites. I am blogging this, because #subrosa HAS to be tired of hearing how good it is.
Spicey goodness, kimchi goodness, sesamegoodness. The noodles are excellent too. Thin, but very flavourfull.
My only complaint is the mystery red dye. I am sure it has coated my insides.

Nong Shim - Shin Ramyun (Hot and Spicey)
From the makers of "Hot Taste! Bowl noodle soup". (they know noodles!)
These are noodles with balls. They are not afraid to be hot. Hot taste is where it is at. These noodles make your face numb. Instead mystery pink and white seafood bits like the Hot Taste! bowl noodles, these have dried mushrooms, that might actually be real dried mushrooms. I think they are shiitake, or straw mushrooms. Very good at any rate.
And damn, they have kick, the party is still on inside my mouth.
They rule.
(My spellchecker barfed on shiitake... hmm... I hope I spelt that right.)
