Why Do I Read Tarot? Because I am a Tarot Reader.
The title of course, refers to a Zen koan where a doctor gets upset, becuase he fixes up solders, and they just go back into battle, and get hurt again, or even die.
it also refers to the fact that peopl esometimes ask me "Why do you read tarot?"
This is why.

2 Friends now blogging
2 Excellent friends of mine are blogging, the first is the Pastor of Disaster, your vicar and mine, The Reverend. His personal site is at Anima Corporis, and uses it to publishes some excellent erotic fiction. Along with The Reverend, we have the Auspicious Kitty, talking about Yoga and Buddhism.
The Auspicious Kitty seems to be starting out her blogging experience in more of a journalistic way talking about her journey through yoga, in her blog appropriately titled Progress or non-process. Normally, I am quite hard on journal-style blogs, but this is quite cool. The difference between this and a Live Journal? Simple: there is a clear path being followed, a common thread to tie everything together, and the potential for other people to learn from her experiences. Live Journals are just a Brownian random walk through a teenage wasteland.
The Reverends blog (Observations is its title) on the other hand is more of a random walk about cool and interesting things, somewhat like my own blog. Because he is writing under a pen-name, he gets to be a little more open about things that I used to be open about, which is way cool. Check out his third entry on rights of passage. Tasty goodness.
I am very pleased to provide them with webspace, and hope they continue to blog away.

Daft Punk as a Refactoring Tutorial
Greg made an interesting interpretation of Daft Punks "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", one of the coolest songs, and animated sequences of Discovery and Interstella 5555 (respectively).
Right on greg. Good call.
- Work it harder
- spend your time making it work, and work according to spec. Work hard at this.
- Make it better
- refactor, refactor, refactor. Keep the code clean, improve your algorithms, add unit tests.
- Do it faster
- ok, now you can optimize, but make sure you’ve got a profiler there to tell you what’s slow in the first place.
- Makes us stronger
- this leads to better software, more robust, and that keeps your company strong.
- More than ever hour after (h)our work is never over
- wash, rinse, repeat. Iteration, my friends, iteration.
Right on greg. Good call.

Welcome to the world Baby Ivan!
Welcome to the world baby Ivan Edward Strukoff!
This entry has been a long time in coming. Too long. (In fact, sorry it is a little late). 8 lbs. 7 oz of pure little-hoo-man-cuteness. I am so glad that I have been invited to be a part of this little ones life. Craig and Jen are two of the most wonderful people I know, and I know that they are going to make wonderful parents.
Edit: Michael... Michael? Where the fuck did I get Michael? Ivan Edward Strukoff. Not Michael. Man, I whould write a serendipity_proofread_your_entry_dumbass_plugin.
