Steven Harper Fuck off.
Some kind words about my MP: An Article by David Orchard
The "new" party is the old Reform-Alliance which took over the Progressive Conservative party, its colours and half its name. The word "progressive" was purged (along with its progressive wing). As Stephen Harper explained last June: "We may not have some of the old conservatives, red Tories like the David Orchards or the Joe Clarks. This is not all bad. A more coherent coalition can take strong positions it wouldn’t otherwise be able to take — as the Alliance alone was able to do during the Iraq war."I voted against the asshole man.

Gag the Critics of the Calgary Police Service!
Sadly, this is not filed under 'perversion', 'roleplay', and 'cop an robber scenes', but instead is filed under 'politics'. The Chief of Police in Calgary has obtained a civil court order to confiscate a computer running a website that is critical of the Calgary Police Service. What was on the site? According to the CBC:
Another thing. Fuck the "you are either with us, or against us" rhetoric that is going on these days. Seriously.
Messages on the site said it spoke for officers who had suffered under Beaton's "corrupt" administration.Wow, thats pretty damning, hey? So the response to this is to get the chief of police to get a gag order, and confiscate the website? Say what now? And what do our aldermen have to say about this?
It stated: "We are the police, the communications officers, the administration staff and other police service members and employees that either have been the victims of tyranny, politics, harassment, bullying, racism, constructive termination, etc., or we know someone who has."
However, Ald. Craig Burrows, who sits on the police commission, says Beaton acted properly.Fuck You! It is called freedom of speech. If you don't like what someone has to say, you don't fix the problem by strong arming people with the law. that is what totalitarian regimes do. You fix the problem by A) removing the source of the criticism, and/or B) by proving that the criticism is unfounded through word and deed. This of course, does neither. In fact, it is a public relations disaster really. What it says to me is that police chief Beaton is quite likely corrupt, and so is Craig Burrows, and they cannot handle the criticism, so they do everything in their power to remove it. Now this is not necessarily the case. However that is the first thing that comes to my mind when I read stuff like this.
"I think any time you go after the morale of a service or the morale of a city that takes pride in its service, the chief has a right to act," Burrows said.
Another thing. Fuck the "you are either with us, or against us" rhetoric that is going on these days. Seriously.

God hates Canada
God Hates Canada
Yea. Fuck you too. We marry our homos over here. Try and stop us you ignorant scum.
To God's Elect: Leave Canada NOW!!!
When WBC members did in fact actually burn the Canadian flag in religious protest to Canada's approval of same-sex marriage, the so-called Christians of Canada were the loudest in denouncing WBC and "widely reviling" her Gospel message.
Yea. Fuck you too. We marry our homos over here. Try and stop us you ignorant scum.

Real Conservatives
David Orchard has an excellent view on what it REALLY means to be a Canadian conservative. Fuck you Ralph. Fuck you Steve. Take your Free Trade, Iraq, Protection of Marriage and Missile Defence and stick it in your arse.
He has a blog too... but apparently no RSS. No excuse. Bad!

No anesthetic for dentists. Wax copyright while in the chair.
The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, which collects royalties for musicians, has targeted dental offices in its latest campaign. The group is asking them to cough up a yearly fee if they use copyrighted music to entertain patients.-- From the CBC also on < a href="http://slashdot.org/articles/04/07/25/2121237.shtml?tid=141">Slashdot.
There is a quote from sneakers that seems apropos.
There is a war old pal, a war of information! It is not about who controls the guns, or the bombs anymore, but the information!(this may not be a direct quote, I am working offa memory here).
Now, Sneakers was cool, and fun, but it was very cold-war. Because now, we don't have to worry so much about the information that the ruskies might get, but instead, we have to worry about what information the NSA, CIA, FBI, CSIS, JAM, LDD, ELF and KLF are collecting about us. Now we have to worry about who owns what information. I buy a DVD player. Do I own the player? Surely! But what if I decide to hack around with it's electronics. I own the DVD player, that means I own the electronics, right? How about the (dvd, not www)CSS encryption, do I own that? It is part of my DVD player.
Same goes for CD's.
The thing is, that we are getting into a licence heavy world now. I don't own the recording of Skinny Puppy's "The Process". Instead, what I own is a licence to play it. A very restrictive licence. When it comes to music, software, and movies, there is nothing inherently wrong with this model. It is a good thing that I retain the rights to my music. However, it becomes a problem when organizations like the RIAA, MPAA, ASCAP, and SOCAN start to use this model not only as a way to maintain conrol of the works of the artists, but also to attempt to control the means of distribution.
On a compleatly unrelated note. I want a dentist chair. Man thoes things are COOL.

I'd pack up my wife and child, and move.
A separate Alberta sounds like a great idea!
No wait! It doesn't! It musta been the crack I was smoking.
Watch out fags, no more rights for you. It will soon be ok to beat your children again, but not your wife, yet.
Goodbye social assistance.
Man.
Nutjobs.
I am embarrassed to be Albertan.
